The Doll Retreat - Giveaway "10 spots"

Hello my dear kindred spirits!!

The moment is here, a new challenge I impose upon myself to create.....creativity moves me to the core, does that happen to you to? The Doll Retreat Class is ready to go!!! Starting April 15, 2012 and open indefinelty you can sign up at any time...! Held on my ning network; Lafiorevida.ning.com (you must be a member to participate)

I want to share my upheavals and my moments of doubt as I have started this new journey,  its not easy I tell you that, to balance the moments I get to create, with been a mom, a wife, a friend and an artist!

Yeah I know I am not alone is this journey. Working on this class was very challenging, and almost scary, all those thoughts am I good enough? who do you think you are? and bla bla blah in my head meeting my heart! Not to mention the serious doubts can I be successful!? What is success anyway? To me is that willingness in our hearts to go for it, learn in the process....right? Well that is what it is for me!

Why am I doing this? I can only tell you, I seriously believe that anybody out there that is willing to embark in a creative journey wholeheartely will soon find an incredible peace in their hearts..that will fill their lives with joy. So wheter I am succesfull or not, I want to share it, because I know for a fact, that art heals, that this is my story. Creativity and I found each other and healing the scatter pieces of me came soon after. So this is not the time to give up I say! I have a dream, and I will live it to the very last moment, and that moment will stay far away as long as I continue to believe in the healing powers of a creative life. My life and also yours if you let it!

I really want to learn your techniques, you are certainly a very creative person! Learning to do these nine dolls will be a great challenge for me and I'm sure I'll have lots of fun! Wow! I love your dolls and have been watching for this class because I took your luggage class and it was so awesome!!

I'm sure you were thinking of young girls and mothers but I have to tell you that my mother and I have gotten to be so much closer thru art. It is one thing that we share - talking, shopping, and even creating together!! It has been so wonderful to share art with my Mother!! It would be so awesome if I won this and could tell her that our special relationship was the reason!

Brenda, you are so wonderful! I love watching you and getting to know you. Your own art journey is really incredible and a great inspiration!

Hi Girls! Thank you for the lovely comments! @ Kelly have to tell you that I was thinking about daughters bringing their mothers in too! '-) Is great to hear that art helps relationships between mother - daughter improve...I am still trying to get my mom involve, and my daughter too.....! My mom is back in Puerto Rico, and my daughter in College....!

Hi Brenda, here's my comment about why I want to enter your giveaway. It's more of a challenge to me, but what a beautiful idea. I have a 16 yr. old, my youngest and even though we love each other to death, we don't have a lot in common and so we don't do many things together. She's also at that age when she thinks everything I do is old and boring. I hesitated a little to ask her because her interest is more in sports than dolls or crafting; but, I did. Believe it or not, she said yes. This will be a great opportunity for Natalie and me to get closer and be able to form a path to communicating. She is after all my baby and time is flying by: Bonding with Natalie is one of my priorities right now. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Abrazos, Iris

OMgosh!! Looks like I can join your ning now!! YAY!! How are you, hun?

So excited to see this workshop. I've always wanted to play with dolls! The kid (who is 15) thinks this is a fabulous opportunity to create with me - something that doesn't happen often enough. I think we'll have to do this together!

You are fabulous! Much success!

Yay, so glad I found you. I've always been intrigued with art dolls! I actually visited a few garage sales this past weekend and came upon someone selling a container full of unused clay. I bought it on a whim. I was searching for how to's on art dolls and found you! Thanks for a chance at winning a spot in your workshop. I added an image and link on the sidebar of my blog :)

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to win a place in your classroom! <3

It is because of my mother that I like so much to create. She was always a crafty/DIY kind of person, and I grew up surrounded by art supplies and craft magazines; and nowadays it's me who brings her new ideas and techniques I see over the internet... Crafting is a getaway from the everyday worries that we both enjoy and need; and making projects together always was a really bonding experience for us, and I'm very grateful to have that in my life.

My daughter & I craft & create together all the time. I really think that's what has helped kept us so close through the years! Even though we may get mad at one another, we can retreat to opposite sides of our crafting room & pretty soon we're talking :-). We'd love to win your mother-daughter class! Thanks for the chance to win!
